EATONTON, Ga. – Three Bulldogs stand tied for sixth individually as the No. 27 Georgia men's golf team carded a nine-under-par, 279 during round one of the Linger Longer Invitational to end Sunday afternoon in third place at the Great Waters Golf Course.

No. 16 Alabama ended the day in first at 21-under, head of second-place No. 13 Virginia by nine strokes. Carter Loflin, Camden Smith and Ben van Wyk each posted scores of three-under 69, with Smith earning seven birdies, tied for the second-most in the field.

JT Herman and Loflin, both of whom are competing as individuals, earned eagles on hole six, a 557-yard, par five. Georgia was the only school in round one with multiple players to earn eagles.

All five Bulldogs competing for the team finished in the top 30. Graduate Connor Creasy's first round of 70 saw him score par-or-better in 17 holes with just one bogey, tying him for 17th. He is joined by Beck Burnette, who is competing individually, also finishing with a round of two-under. Both Caleb Manuel and Buck Brumlow carded a one-under 71 to stand tied for 29th.

Georgia will return for round two of the Linger Longer Invitational on Monday, March 18, with Manuel the first Bulldog to tee off at 9:51 a.m. ET.
