Fischer Signs Pro Contract with LOVB Salt Lake

ATHENS, Ga. – University of Georgia volleyball alum Sophie Fischer has signed a pro contract with League One Volleyball's LOVB Salt Lake, the league announced Tuesday.
League One Volleyball (pronounced LOVE) is launching its professional league, LOVB Pro, this season. LOVB Pro's 14-week season kicks off the week of Jan. 6. Each week, all six teams will play with matches rotating format between cities. The mid-season, winner-take-all LOVB Classic will feature all six teams in Kansas City in February. The inaugural champion will be crowned in the LOVB Finals in April.
LOVB Salt Lake will kick off its season on Wednesday, Jan. 8 against LOVB Atlanta at the Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta. The match will begin at 7:30 p.m. streaming live on ESPN+.
Fischer becomes the latest Pro Dawg for Georgia Volleyball, joining Kacie Evans (Atlanta Vibe in the Pro Volleyball Federation) and Erica Staunton (Oriveden Ponnistus in the Champions League in Finland).
Her career in the Red & Black includes 2023 SEC Player of the Year, 2023 AVCA Second Team All-American, three-time All-Region honors, three-time All-SEC, and a four-time SEC Player of the Week.
Fischer concluded her career with 1,119 kills, broke Georgia's all-time block assists record (450) and blocks per set record (1.43) and finished third in total blocks (488). This season, her 156 total blocks finished tied for seventh in a single season, and her 146 block assists finished third. She finished third in the SEC with 1.42 blocks per set while putting up 2.91 kills per set, ranking third on the team.
Fischer graduated with her degree in Sociology from UGA in May 2024.
