Two Bulldogs Named Arion Sellier NCEA Riders of the Month

WACO, Texas – University of Georgia equestrian's junior Tessa Brown and freshman Shaelyn Boutelle have been named Arion Sellier Rider of the Month for Fences and Horsemanship for the month of November, the National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced Wednesday.
 
Brown, a Bloomfield, Connecticut native, registered a 3-1 record in November, with big wins coming against a pair of ranked opponents. She is undefeated on the road this season, tallying three consecutive wins against No. 8 South Carolina, UC Davis and No. 5 Fresno State.
 
The Public Relations major was awarded her seventh career MOP honor with an 86-point ride at UC Davis. She has only recorded one ride this season below an 85. Brown was previously honored with Southeastern Conference Rider of the Month recognition for her performance against No. 3 TCU in September.
 
Boutelle, a native of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, wrapped up the month of November with her first career MOP honors. She posted a three-meet win streak to boost her season record to 5-1-1. She received back-to-back MOP honors at UC Davis and Fresno State. She edged out her opponent by half a point to score the first point of her event against No. 1 Auburn at home.
 
Georgia concluded its fall schedule with a win against top-ranked Auburn, 11-9.The Bulldogs have defeated the top two teams in the NCEA rankings in Bishop this season, previously beating second-ranked Texas A&M by a tie breaker score of 9 (1676.25)-9 (1659.75).
 
The Bulldogs are enjoying a two-month break for competition before returning to Bishop for the start of the spring season on Feb. 2 for a Jumping Seat competition against Lynchburg. The Bulldogs will then travel to Texas for a pair of dual meets against Texas A&M and SMU.
