ATHENS, Ga. – Anderson, S.C. native and blue-chip recruit Noah Johnston has signed with the Bulldogs for the fall of 2025, head coach Jamie Hunt announced on Wednesday.
"Noah was one of the top recruits in the country and we couldn't be more excited for him to join our Georgia Tennis family," said Hunt. "He is a relentless worker, has very high aspirations for himself and more than anything wants to win another National Championship for this storied program.
Johnston has a career-high national recruiting ranking of No. 1 and plays out of Brookstone Meadows Tennis Club. Johnston holds a 5-5 record against fellow blue-chip recruits. He also holds an ITF Junior Ranking of 53 with a career-high of 50. He has a 63-percent win rate in singles and a 79-percent win rate in doubles play. Johnston also holds a World Tennis Number of 13.1. His recent wins include singles and doubles championships at J200 Tampico, a doubles championship at the J300 Barranquilla and a doubles championship at the J300 San Jose while also featuring in the 144th edition of the U.S. Open junior doubles draw.
Johnston is coached by his mom, Sophie Woorons, who is the Brookstone Meadows Tennis Club owner and a former All-American for the Clemson Tigers in both singles and doubles. Johnston's father, Andy, also coached for 15 years at Clemson and helped the women's tennis team to five consecutive Atlantic Coastal Conference championships.
"I am extremely excited to officially be joining the UGA team and culture," said Johnston. "This place is truly special and there's no place like it. Go Dawgs!"
