  • The undefeated Georgia swimming and diving teams open their 2024-25 home seasons with its annual meeting against rival Florida. The Bulldogs swept South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and Florida State on the road, while the Gators split with Virginia before a tri-meet with Rollins College and the University of Tampa.
  • The Georgia men (2-0, 1-0 SEC) tallied 14 victories on the day, including sweeps of both relays and diving events, while the Georgia women (3-0, 2-0 SEC) notched 11 wins.
  • A trio of Bulldogs posted three individual victories Saturday, highlighted by redshirt senior Luca Urlando. Urlando turned in another A-cut time of 1:39.03 in the 200-yard butterfly before winning in the 200y backstroke (1:39.39) and 200y IM (1:43.49). Urlando also led off the Bulldogs' winning 200y medley relay with a 21.21 leadoff split to set up a first-place time of 1:25.20 en route to his second consecutive SEC Men's Swimmer of the Week honor.
  • Junior Ieva Maluka earned three wins and three B-cuts in the 200y freestyle (1:45.02), 200y butterfly (1:56.32), and 200y IM (1:56.64), along with anchoring the victorious 400y freestyle relay, earning her SEC Women's Swimmer of the Week accolades. Senior Eboni McCarty also swept her program with B-cut times, besting the field in the 100y backstroke (51.99), 50y freestyle (22.42), and 100y freestyle (48.94).
  • The Georgia distance group once again dominated, beginning with Abby McCulloh in the 1,000y freestyle, leading a top-four sweeps that included new PBs for juniors Shea Furse and Heidi Stalkfleet. Redshirt senior Tommy-Lee Camblong prevailed in the mile, while graduate Jake Magahey touched first in the 500y freestyle with a B-cut of 4:16.92. In the women's 500y free, senior Rachel Stege led another top-four sweep with a B-cut of 4:39.46.
  • Two freshman Bulldogs earned the first individual wins of their collegiate careers. First, Elliot Woodburn topped the 100y breaststroke with a time of 53.76, followed by Samantha Rydzewski touching first in the 200y backstroke with a time of 1:56.94. Both freshmen were named SEC Freshmen of the Week for their performances.
  • Georgia's men's diving team turned in a tremendous performance in winning both springboard events. On 3-meter, junior transfer Renato Calderaro grabbed his first win as a Bulldog with a Zone-cut score of 378.35, while senior Rhett Hopkins qualified for Zones with a third-place 325.70, adding to his 1-meter cut from last week. Later, on 1-meter, sophomore Matthew Bray won his third event of the season with a score of 332.40. The Bulldogs tallied the top five scores in the event, with Calderaro, freshman Bo Bridges, and Hopkins all earning Zone cuts.
