AUBURN, Ala. – Graduate midfielder Nicole Vernis' first career brace powered the University of Georgia soccer team (7-4-6, 3-2-4 SEC) to a 2-2 draw against No. 13 Auburn (12-1-4, 4-1-4).

Vernis put Georgia on the board at both ends of the match, scoring in the second minute off an assist from sophomore midfielder Devon Winters and with 25 seconds left via a service from junior defender Cate Hardin. The North Palm Beach, Florida native has now scored in consecutive matches after going scoreless for the first 15 contests of the season.
Auburn tied the match in the 13^th minute on a goal by Anna Haddock. The Tigers later took the lead with a converted penalty from Mallory Mooney in the 71^st minute.
Junior goalkeeper Jordan Brown tallied five saves on the evening, becoming the fifth keeper in program history to notch 100 stops in a season.
Georgia and Auburn each racked up 10 shots (seven on frame) in the match. Graduate forward Margie Detrizio led all players with four shots.
Thursday's draw marked Georgia's first result on the Plains since a 1-0 victory in 2015. Georgia is now 7-1-2 this season when scoring first.
