ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia swimming and diving teams return home to face Florida State and Vanderbilt Saturday morning at Gabrielsen Natatorium. The Bulldogs and No. 16/23 Seminoles will face off in a men's dual meet, with the Commodores joining in for a women's tri-meet.
The meet begins at 11 a.m. EST with free admission for all spectators. Prior to the meet, the natatorium pool will be officially dedicated in honor of legendary head coach Jack Bauerle. The first 100 spectators will receive a free Taylor Swift T-shirt as part of the team's "Swimming with the Swifties" promotion. Live coverage of the meet will stream on SEC Network+ with live results available to paid subscribers on the MeetMobile app.
No. 7/12 Georgia enters this meet following an impressive sweep of No. 10/14 Auburn last weekend on the Plains. Three members of the Georgia team received SEC weekly honors as senior Jake Magahey was named Men's Co-Swimmer of the Week, while freshmen Tomas Koski and Helena Jones were each named Freshman of the Week for their performances. Magahey and fifth-year senior Zoie Hartman each led their teams with three individual wins apiece.
In the men's meet, fifth-years Ian Grum and Zach Hils, junior Reese Branzell, sophomore Ruard van Renen and freshman diver Matthew Bray also posted wins. On the women's side, the Bulldogs' distance group dominated with top-three sweeps in the 200y, 500y, and 1,000y freestyle, earning wins for senior Sloane Reinstein and juniors Abby McCulloh and Rachel Stege.
Following Saturday's meet, Georgia remains home next Saturday to face SEC rival Tennessee at 11 a.m. Saturday's meet will be the "Party at the Pool" in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the women's swimming and diving program.
