Georgia Set to Open Spring Tennis at Michigan Invitational

Athens, Ga. — The University of Georgia women's tennis team will open up its spring schedule at the Michigan Invitational starting on Friday and running through Sunday in Ann Arbor, Mich.Â
Heading into the spring as the No. 3 team in the nation via the ITA's team preseason rankings, the Bulldogs will compete in singles and doubles action for three days joined by three other ranked programs including No. 5 Michigan, No. 14 Ohio State, and in-state rivals No. 20 Georgia Tech.Â
"We are looking forward to kicking off our indoor season here in Ann Arbor," head coach Drake Bernstein said. "Our team has put in solid work since returning from the break and we're excited to put our work to the test against some of the nation's top competition."
Format of CompetitionÂ
No team score will be kept as all players will compete individually. Each program will compete in three rounds of singles and three rounds of doubles, one round per day. Each round includes eight flights of singles and four flights of doubles. Â
