First Serve
Georgia volleyball returns to Ramsey Student Center to host the Bulldog Classic this Thursday and Friday. The Bulldogs will host Jacksonville, Army, and Samford in the six-match round robin tournament. 
 
The Bulldogs will play Jacksonville at 10:30 a.m. to open tournament action Thursday. The final match of the day will feature the Bulldogs and Army Black Knights at 7:30 p.m. The tournament will close Friday evening between Georgia and Samford at 6 p.m.

Recapping Action
The Bulldogs hit the road for the first time in 2023 last weekend, taking part in the Coastal Carolina Tournament. Georgia began the weekend with its third sweep in four matches, this time of North Florida on Friday. Georgia fell to TCU in straight sets Friday evening. The Bulldogs rebounded on Saturday to come back against host Coastal Carolina and beat the Chanticleers in four sets after dropping the opening set. Sophie Fischer led the Bulldogs on the weekend with 43 kills (4.3/set), six aces, and 11 total blocks. The senior registered 5.65 points per set as Georgia went 2-1 on the weekend. 
 
A Look at What's Ahead
Georgia will conclude non-conference play in Atlanta next weekend as part of the Georgia Tech Classic. The Bulldogs will take on host and rival Georgia Tech Friday evening at McCamish Pavilion at 7 p.m. The Bulldogs will then face San Diego Saturday at 6 p.m. then takes on Howard Sunday at 3 p.m. to close non-conference play in 2023. 
 
Approaching Double Grand Status
Kacie Evans is rapidly approaching double grand status at Georgia. Evans became the 19th member of Georgia's 1,000 Kill Club last season. She is 75 digs away from 1,000 in her career. She will be the 22nd member of the 1,000 Dig Club and the 15th member of Georgia's Double Grand Club. Meghan Donovan (2015-19) was the most recent inductee into both clubs. 
 
Currently with 1,711 career points, Evans is on track to join all-time greats Priscilla Pacheco (3,018.0), Julia Petruschke (2,264.5), Nikki Nicholson (2,157.0), and Maria Taylor (2,020.0) in the 2,000 Point Club. 
 
Evans, Fischer Tabbed All-SEC
Graduate Kacie Evans and senior Sophie Fischer were named to the 2023 Volleyball Preseason All-SEC Team. Additionally, Georgia was picked to finish fourth in the league this upcoming season, garnering 106 points in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. Kentucky was picked as the preseason favorite. Evans finished first in the SEC in total kills and points (578) and second in kills per set, total aces, and aces per set (0.39) last season. Fischer's 183 total blocks finished third all-time at Georgia in a single season and the most in a season in the rally scoring era.
