UGA Equestrian to Hold Tryouts

ATHENS, Ga.---Tryouts for the final spots on the 2023-24 Georgia equestrian team roster will be held the first week of school at the UGA Equestrian Complex in Bishop, Ga, head coach Meghan Boenig has announced.
Anyone wishing to participate in tryouts must attend a mandatory informational zoom meeting on Thursday, August 10 at 5 p.m. EST. To receive further information and register for the zoom meeting, please email ugaequestrian@sports.uga.edu.
"Our walk-on program has produced some very talented riders and leaders over the years," head coach Meghan Boenig said. "We are currently seeking a potential western or jumping seat team member. History has shown us that riders who have joined our program through tryouts have helped to build and sustain our success through exceptional leadership and drive."
Requirements for any student to tryout are as follows:
- Full-time female UGA student with experience in the sport
- Proof of cleared tryout physical exam (must be within the last year)
- Health Insurance card
- Class Schedule, UGA ID number
- Completed Waiver
The completion of a recruiting questionnaire prior to the tryout dates is also highly recommended. A link to the questionnaire can be found at georgiadogs.com. Team obligations will begin Friday, August 18th.
