2023 Georgia Volleyball Schedule Announced

ATHENS, Ga. – University of Georgia head women's volleyball coach Tom Black has announced the Bulldogs' slate of matches for the upcoming 2023 season.Â

The 2023 campaign will be the 45th season in the program's history and the seventh under the direction of 2022 SEC Coach of the Year Tom Black. Â

The 30-match schedule features 12 non-conference matches and 18 SEC matches. 11 opponents appeared in the 2022 NCAA Tournament including Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Samford, San Diego, Tennessee, and TCU.Â

Georgia will play six matches against five teams that finished in the Top 25 a season ago: No. 3 San Diego, No. 12 Florida, No. 14 Kentucky, No. 16 Georgia Tech, and #25 Arkansas.Â

Due to ongoing renovations to Stegeman Coliseum, the Bulldogs will play most of their home matches at Ramsey Student Center this season, its previous home from 1995 to 2017.Â

Georgia begins the season at Ramsey Aug. 25-27 hosting UConn, Western Carolina, and Florida State in a six-match round robin tournament. In week three, Georgia will host its second tournament, welcoming Jacksonville, Army, and Samford to Ramsey Sept. 7-8.Â

Non-conference road tournaments include three matches at Coastal Carolina Sept. 1-2, taking on North Florida, TCU, and the host Chanticleers. Non-conference action concludes in Atlanta at the Georgia Tech tournament Sept. 15-17. Georgia will play the Yellow Jackets at McCamish Pavilion Sept. 15 then take on San Diego and Howard to round out the non-conference schedule.Â

Georgia concluded the 2022 season in the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a 23-8 overall record. All-American Kacie Evans and All-America honorable mention Sophie Fischer guided Georgia to a 13-5 SEC record, finishing third in the league.Â
