Track’s Julia Harisay Named To CSC Academic All-District Team

ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia graduate transfer Julia Harisay has been voted to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, according to an announcement Wednesday.
Harisay, a native of Athens, Ga., posted a 3.69 GPA while receiving her Mathematics degree from Princeton and finished with a 4.0 GPA at UGA and earned a Master's of International Policy this spring. The Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll member garnered the 2021-22 Scholar-Athlete Award for women's track as the team member with the highest GPA for the academic year.
Harisay won her final home meet after sending the javelin a season best distance of 48.79 meters/160 feet, 1 inch at the Spec Towns + Torrin Lawrence Invite. She scored a point at the SEC Championships by taking eighth (48.45m/158-11) and advanced to the NCAA East Prelims with the region's 18th-best mark.
Most recently, Harisay launched her top effort in the javelin 48.38m/158-9 to take ninth at the NCAA East Prelims and qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third-team All-America honorees will be announced June 28.
