
Bulldogs Seventh After Round One in Naples

NAPLES, Fla. — The University of Georgia men's golf team carded a 10-over-par 298 on Sunday to rest seventh in the team standings following the opening round of the Calusa Cup at Calusa Pines Golf Club.
The nine-team field at the Calusa Cup features the top four teams that are ranked in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches poll. Wake Forest holds the 18-hole team lead after firing rounds of 7-under-par 281. Fourth-ranked North Carolina is second at 4-under-par 284, and Ohio State is third at even-par 288. North Carolina's Ryan Burnett holds the 18-hole individual lead after shooting rounds of 4-under-par 68.
The Bulldogs were paced by sophomore Maxwell Ford who carded a round of even-par 72 (T10) and fellow sophomore Buck Brumlow who fired a 1-over-par 73 (T13). Senior Connor Creasy shot a 4-over-par 76 (T29), while junior Caleb Manuel turned in a 5-over-par 77 (T33). Senior Ben van Wyk rounded out the Bulldogs with a round of 7-over-par 79 (T38).
