Bulldogs in Sixth Heading into Final Round

NAPLES, Fla. — The University of Georgia men's golf team carded a 10-over-par 298 on Monday, moving up one spot to sixth in the team standings following the second round of the Calusa Cup at Calusa Pines Golf Club.
The nine-team field at the Calusa Cup features the top four teams that are ranked in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches poll. No. 4 North Carolina holds the 36-hole team lead with a two-round total of even-par 576 (284-292), while Wake Forest is second at 3-over-par 579 (281-298) and top-ranked Vanderbilt is third at 9-over-par 585 (294-291). Georgia sits in sixth with a 36-hole total of 20-over-par 596 (298-298). North Carolina's Ryan Burnett holds the 36-hole individual lead at 5-under-par 139 (68-71).
The Bulldogs were paced by seniors Connor Creasy and Ben van Wyk and sophomore Maxwell Ford who all carded rounds of 2-over-par 74, while junior Caleb Manuel and sophomore Buck Brumlow each tallied rounds of 4-over-par 76.
Ford is tied for 10th and leads Georgia with a 36-hole total of 2-over par 146 (72-74), while Brumlow is tied for 17th at 5-over-par 149 (73-76) and Creasy is tied for 21st at 6-over-par 150 (76-74). The Bulldogs are rounded out by Manuel and van Wyk who both sit tied for 34th at 9-over-par 153.
