HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — The Georgia women's golf team posted a 13-over 297 in Monday's opening round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, placing the Bulldogs tied with Alabama in 10th place on the team leaderboard. The stacked field competing at Long Cove Club includes six top-10 and 12 top-25 teams.

Jenny Bae and Caterina Don led the Bulldogs with a pair of 1-over 72s on Monday. Georgia's additional counting rounds included a 75 from Céleste Dao and a 78 from Caroline Craig.

"We know we're going up against the best field we'll see up until postseason," head coach Josh Brewer said. "Today we counted two really good rounds, a solid round and a good round. We know we just have to put everything together with everyone playing well to show how good we know we can be. I hate to deflect any attention from how good Jenny and Caterina played today. They've played well all spring for us. Today was a really solid start to the tournament, and we know we're very capable of having a high finish here to continue to build on what has been a solid spring season so far."

No. 4 South Carolina and No. 6 LSU are tied atop the team field after shooting 1-under 283. Rounding out the top-10 teams on the leaderboard are No. 15 Auburn at 285, No. 2 Wake Forest and No. 9 Baylor both at 291, No. 12 Arizona State at 292, No. 3 Oregon and No. 8 Texas at 295, No. 20 Vanderbilt at 296 and the Bulldogs and Tide at 297.
