Sullivan Earns SEC And National Honor

February 27, 2023 | Baseball

ATHENS-----Junior left-hander Liam Sullivan has been named Southeastern Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Sullivan, a 6-6, 255-pound native of Sandy Springs, pitched a gem as part of a combined three-hit shutout of Princeton this past Saturday at Foley Field. He fired seven hitless innings with a career-high 11 strikeouts. He faced just two over the minimum and retired 21 of the 23 batters he faced with a pair of walks. He hit one batter but then picked him off after he tried to steal a base.

For the season, Sullivan (1-0, 0.00 ERA) has yet to allow an earned run. He has pitched 10 innings and surrendered just three hits, three unearned runs with three walks and 13 strikeouts.

Also, Sullivan was one of nine pitchers named "National Players Of the Week" by Collegiate Baseball newspaper. For a list of this week's honorees, click here: http://baseballnews.com/cb-national-players-of-week-2-27-23/

The Bulldogs (5-2) continue a nine-game homestand on Tuesday when Presbyterian (5-2) visits Foley Field. First pitch will be at 4:02 p.m (SECN+).
