Bulldogs Place Third in Puerto Rico

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico — The University of Georgia men's golf team carded a 12-under-par 276 on Tuesday to finish third in the team standings following the final round of the Puerto Rico Classic at Grand Reserve Golf Club.

No. 8 Oklahoma earned the team title with a three-round total of 30-under-par 834 (283-279-271), while East Tennessee State finished second at 25-under-par 839 (272-285-282) and the Bulldogs finished third at 24-under-par 840 (279-285-276). Aglot Kleen of ETSU claimed individual medalist honors with a 54-hole score of 13-under-par 203 (66-71-66).

Sophomore Buck Brumlow tied his career low with a 6-under-par 66 in the final round to move up 22 spots in the individual standings and finish tied for 10th with a 54-hole total of 7-under-par 209 (70-73-66). Sophomore Maxwell Ford posted a final round 2-under-par 70 to finish tied for 14th with a 54-hole total of 6-under-par 210 (71-69-70).

Senior Connor Creasy tallied a final round 1-over-par 73 to finish tied for 20th at 5-under-par 211 (68-70-73), while junior Caleb Manuel fired a final round 3-under-par 66 to finish tied for 28th at 3-under-par 213 (70-74-69) and freshman Carter Loflin posted a 1-under-par 71 to finish 1-under-par 215 (71-73-71) for the tournament and tied for 36th.

Playing as an individual, senior Ben van Wyk tallied a final round 1-under-par 71 to finish 14th at 6-under-par 210 (71-68-71).

The Bulldogs return to action when they compete in the Southern Highlands Collegiate on Feb. 26-28 (Sunday-Tuesday) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
