Recapping Action
Georgia volleyball defeated eighth-ranked Arkansas Wednesday evening at Stegeman Coliseum in straight sets (25-22, 25-19, 25-22) behind a career-high 22 kills from senior Sophie Fischer. The win was Georgia's fifth in its last six matches. Fischer tallied a career-best 22 kills on a .441 hitting clip. On the defensive side of the ball, she put up seven kills with four digs. Her 26.5 points was a three-set rally scoring record at Georgia. Kacie Evans (12) and Erica Staunton (10) also tipped the double-digit kill marks. Evans' team-leading 10 digs was good enough for her team-best ninth double-double of the season. She also led the team with two aces. Bailey Cox put up nine digs in the match while Clara Brower handed out 37 assists.

A Look at What's Ahead
The Bulldogs continue their road stretch next weekend taking on a pair of ranked opponents in No. 11 Tennessee and No. 13 Kentucky. The Bulldogs and Lady Vols square off Friday, Nov. 10 in Knoxville before the Dogs head to Lexington for a matchup with the Wildcats on Sunday, Nov. 12.

The Nation's Highest Scoring Middle
Middle blocker Sophie Fischer currently leads the SEC in points per set (5.29) and in total points (444.5). In fact, she's the only SEC player with a points per set average north of 5.0. Nationally, she ranks ninth in points per set and is the nation's highest scoring middle. Her 4.12 kills per set ranks second in the league and her 1.37 blocks per set also ranks second. Her 0.42 aces per set and .325 hitting percentage has also cracked the top 10 in the SEC, ranking fifth and ninth.

An Historic Win over The Razorbacks
Georgia's Nov. 1 sweep of No. 8 Arkansas was the second over a ranked opponent in 2023 (#10 Georgia Tech, Sept. 15), a feat not accomplished by Georgia since 1993. The Bulldogs have never beaten two top-10 opponents in a season until now. It's the sixth victory against a ranked opponent in the Tom Black era, the first of its kind at home. Georgia last swept a ranked opponent in 2022 at then-No. 11 Florida.

Lending a Helping Hand
Setter Clara Brower ranks fourth in the SEC with 10.15 assists per set this season. In her third season running the offense, Brower now ranks ninth all-time in total assists with over 2,000 in her career. As Georgia has run a 5-1 offense this season, Brower has recorded eight double-doubles and has a 2.16 digs per set average.

Welcome to the Double Grand Club
In the first set at Auburn on Oct. 1, Kacie Evans recorded her 1,000th career dig, becoming the 22nd member of Georgia's 1,000 Dig Club. Additionally, she also secured Double Grand Club status with her more than 1,500 career kills, becoming Georgia's 15th all-time member of that club.

Currently with 1,951 career points, Evans is on track to join all-time greats Priscilla Pacheco (3,018.0), Julia Petruschke (2,264.5), Nikki Nicholson (2,157.0), and Maria Taylor (2,020.0) in the 2,000 Point Club. She now ranks fifth all time in career kills with 1,677. She also ranks top 10 in career sets played, attacks, aces, and total points.

Aces Wild
After strong matches at the service line recently, Georgia has risen to second in the SEC with a 1.81 aces per set average. The Dogs' 152 total aces is also second. Sophie Fischer (0.42), Clara Brower (0.35), and Bailey Cox (0.35) each appear in the top 10 in the SEC in the category.
