Pair of Bulldogs Fall at ITF Rome 60K

October 04, 2023 | Women's Tennis

Rome, Ga. — Two Bulldogs in junior Mell Reasco and sophomore Alexandra Vecic concluded their singles action at the ITF Rome 60K on Tuesday.

Reasco, who opened up as the No. 10 seed in the qualifying draw, took the court on Monday for her match against Victoria Flores. Reasco trailed early as the first set leaned opposite by a score of 6-1. The second set proved to be more competitive as Reasco battled until the end, but fell short as she fell to Flores 6-1, 7-5.

In the first round of the main draw, Vecic faced off against the No. 3 seed Ann Li on Tuesday. The Singen, Germany-native fought hard in the first set but fell 6-4. The second set mirrored the intensity of the first, as Vecic continued to battle to stay in the match, but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-4 to Li.

The duo will rejoin the Georgia women's tennis team after the conclusion of the ITA All-American Championships and prepare for the ITF Florence 25K on Oct. 9-15.
