Dickinson Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Team

ATHENS, Ga. – Following a career-best season both in and out of the water, University of Georgia swimmer Callie Dickinson was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Team Thursday afternoon.
Dickinson is the 28th member of the Georgia program to be named to the All-District 4 Team and the third-consecutive member Bulldog to be honored, joining Jackson Ford in 2020 and Courtney Harnish in 2021. Harnish was later named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Team last year.
Over four seasons in Athens, Dickinson has earned three CSCAA All-America citations, including a First Team honor this season after helping Georgia finish fifth in the 800 freestyle relay. The Virginia Beach, Virginia native has qualified for the NCAA Championships in all four years, competing in both butterflies and the 200 IM at this year's event. At the SEC Championships in February, Dickinson earned bronze medals in the 200 butterfly and 800 freestyle relay. She is currently ranked top-10 in program history in the 200 backstroke and 200 butterfly and will return next season for a fifth year of eligibility.
Dickinson graduated last week with a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sport Science, earning Summa Cum Laude honors with a 3.92 grade point average. Beginning this fall, she will begin pursuing a master's degree in comparative biomedical sciences with the goal of eventually becoming an orthopedic surgeon. She has been named to the Dean's List and received Presidential Honors (4.0 GPA) on multiple occasions, while also being named to the J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Honor Roll in each semester and to the SEC Academic Honor Roll each of the past three years.
Dickinson has been recognized as a CSCAA Scholar All-American for three consecutive seasons and was named to the 2021 SEC Community Service Team. This year, she was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and the Blue Key Leadership Fraternity and will serve as president of the latter in the coming academic year. She is currently the secretary for the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society. Additionally, she serves as a team representative on the UGA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was inducted into the L.E.A.D. Leadership Academy.
Dickinson will now join the pool of nominees for the CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Team, which will be announced on Wednesday, June 15.
