A Look at What's Ahead
Georgia will return to Athens the next weekend for a three-game series against No. 13 Tennessee. The series begins Friday, April 8 under the lights of Jack Turner Stadium. The first 500 fans receive a Alex Hugo bobblehead at Friday night's game. Saturday and Sunday's games will both be afternoon contests.
Let's Recap
Down three in the sixth, Georgia plated eight runs in the bottom of the inning to come back and defeat Georgia Southern 12-7 Wednesday. Georgia's offense scattered 15 hits in the contest, led by three-hit performance from junior Sydney Kuma. Five other Bulldogs had two hits each. Junior Sara Mosley and sophomore Aniyah Black each drove in three runs. Mosley's three-run home run in the sixth put Georgia ahead 9-7.
Comeback Queens
When trailing after four innings this season, Georgia has come back to win four games. Most recently, Georgia has mounted comebacks against Georgia Southern (down three in the sixth), game two against Texas A&M (erased six-run deficit), Clemson (down one in the sixth), and game one at South Carolina (scored two in top of the seventh).
Baldwin Named to USA Softball Women's National Team Coaching Staff
USA Softball has announced Tony Baldwin an assistant coach selected to lead the Women's National Team (WNT) at the 2022 World Games held in Birmingham, Alabama in July. Joined by Head Coach Heather Tarr (Head Coach at Washington), Cindy Ball-Malone (Head Coach at UCF) and Tim Walton (Head Coach at Florida) will complete the World Games coaching staff after coaching alongside each other en route to a gold medal finish at the 2019 U-19 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women's World Cup in Lima, Peru.

Georgia rose two spots to No. 15 in the Week Seven USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll following a week of wins over No. 16 Clemson and Texas A&M. Georgia rose two spots to No. 18 in the USA Softball/ESPN.com poll. The Bulldogs' RPI also rose to 22 after a strong week at home.
Georgia Records 1,100th Program Victory
With the 16-6 win over Mercer on Sunday, March 20, the Georgia Bulldogs recorded the 1,100th win in the history of the softball program. Georgia joins Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and LSU as SEC teams with over 1,100 victories started around 1997.
Georgia Top Five Nationally in Offensive Averages
The Bulldogs currently rank top five nationally in batting average (.352), on-base percentage (.437), and slugging (.655). Georgia leads the SEC in slugging while checking in second in batting average and on-base percentage.
Dogs Dig the Long Ball
Georgia slugged 16 home runs in five games of the Bulldog Classic (3/4-3/6). Prior to the weekend, Georgia ranked 18th in the country with 1.31 home runs per game. After the weekend, the Bulldogs skyrocketed to fifth nationally and first in the SEC with a 1.76 average. That number has continued to rise to 1.83, the sixth best in the nation and first in the SEC.
