Men's Tennis Announces 2021-22 Schedule

ATHENS, GA. – A total of 10 matches against teams that finished in the top-20 last season, including home contests against Texas and Florida, highlight the Georgia men's tennis team's 2021-22 regular season schedule. The Bulldogs also host the 2022 Southeastern Conference Men's Tennis Tournament on April 20-24.
This marks the seventh time in school history Georgia has welcomed the SEC men's tennis tournament to Athens, last doing so in 2005. The Bulldogs lead all conference teams with 41 SEC Championships, including 10 tourney titles.
The Bulldogs begin this year's slate with a busy fall season. Georgia welcomes USC, Texas and Ohio State for the 54thSouthern Intercollegiate Championships on Sept. 24-26. Manuel Diaz's team will also host the Bulldawg Invitational on Oct. 8-10 in Athens.
The fall campaign officially begins with the Cary Challenger in Cary, North Carolina and the Champaign 25K in Champaign, Illinois, with various participants from the Georgia roster competing in both.
Georgia opens the dual-match season on Jan. 17 at UCF in Lake Nona, Florida, before returning to Athens to welcome VCU, USF, and Virginia Tech for the ITA Kick-Off Weekend on Jan. 29-30.
"We are incredibly excited to host such an incredible home schedule for our fans and look forward to a great challenge this year," Diaz said. "We are also very excited about our squad and the goals we've set out to achieve. This group has come together very quickly and is showing tremendous desire and closeness. It should be a fun ride."
Following the ITA Indoor National Championships in Seattle, the Bulldogs begin the month of March at home against the 2018 National Champions, the Texas Longhorns. The Bulldogs then begin conference play with two consecutive road matches against Vanderbilt on March 4 and Mississippi State on March 6.
Georgia travels back to Athens for three-straight home contests in mid-March against Florida (March 11), South Carolina (March 13) and Arkansas (March 18). Late-March and the beginning of April consists of three road matches against Tennessee (March 20), Texas A&M (March 27) and Ole Miss (April 1).
The Bulldogs wrap up regular season play beginning with LSU at home (April 3), Kentucky away (April 10) and then a final two matchups at home against Auburn (April 15) and Alabama (April 17).
Following the SEC tournament, the NCAA first and second rounds will take place May 6-8 at various campus sites. The NCAA Super Regionals take place at campus sites May 13-15.
The NCAA Championships will be held in Champaign, Illinois on May 19-28.
