Dog Track Teams, 22 Individuals Earn USTFCCCA Academic Honors

ATHENS, Ga. --- Both the Georgia men and women's track and field teams as well as 22 individual honors have earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors, according to a recent announcement.
 
The Lady Bulldogs posted a 3.54 team GPA during the 2021 season while the Georgia men finished with a 3.21 GPA during that span.  
 
Teams are included as All-Academic squads if they post at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA.  Along with a host of other annual All-Academic Team honors over the years, the UGA women were named the 2017 USTFCCCA National Indoor and Outdoor Scholar Team of the Year as well as the country's top squad in the category during the 2018 indoor season.  
 
The Bulldog men's team was named the USTFCCCA National Outdoor Scholar Team of the Year in 2018 and 2014.  
 
Individually, junior Anna Marian Block (Journalism – 3.42), junior Imani Carothers (Criminal Justice/Sociology – 3.74), senior Jessica Drop (Cellular Biology – 3.9), senior Samantha Drop (Nutritional Sciences – 3.99), sophomore Julia Fixsen (Horticulture/Art – 3.7), sophomore Anna Hall (Finance – 3.84), senior Destiny Jackson (Psychology – 3.54), sophomore Gracie Jauch (Parks, Recreation and Tourism – 3.31), senior Halle McClintock (Elementary Education – 3.96), sophomore Jasmine Moore (Real Estate/Management – 3.43), senior Marie-Therese Obst (Criminal Justice – 3.69), senior Kayla Smith (Nonprofit Management and Leadership Master's – 3.9), senior Amber Tanner (Journalism & Mass Communication Master's – 3.75), sophomore Kaeli Thompson (Finance – 3.37), sophomore Shelby Tyler (International Business/Economics – 3.93), senior Chelsea Zoller (Finance/Management – 3.64), sophomore Matthew Boling (Marketing – 3.32), senior Johannes Erm (Mechanical Engineering – 3.42), junior Labo Oke (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology – 3.54), junior Clay Pender (Finance – 3.39), graduate transfer Jonathan Tharaldsen (Sport Management Master's – 4.0) and junior Ziggy Zoller (Management – 3.39) earned spots as All-Academic Individuals.  
 
A minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA and being ranked in either the top 96 in an individual event (top 48 for relays) indoors are mandatory for individual honors.  Outdoors, student-athletes must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships (the Preliminary Championship Competition and/or the Final Championship Competition) or for the multi-events, must have finished the season ranked in the top 48 in the East or top 48 in the West for the most recent outdoor season, certifiable by their place on the NCAA Division I list.
