Georgia Travels to College Station for Regular Season Finale

ATHENS, Ga. --- The fourth-ranked University of Georgia equestrian team travels to College Station, Texas for the regular season finale against No. 3 Texas A&M on Saturday, March 6. Competition is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. ET at the Hildebrand Equine Complex.
Georgia and Texas A&M last met in the fall with the Bulldogs topping the Aggies, 10-9. Georgia jumped to an advantage in Fences, 3-2 and lengthened its lead in Horsemanship, winning the event 4-1. Junior Sara Lewis won Most Outstanding Performance Honors for her ride with a score of 75. Holding a 7-3 advantage after two events, the Bulldogs added one tally in Flat before sealing the victory in Reining, claiming two more points.
Despite high scores for the Bulldogs, Georgia (2-3) fell to top-ranked Auburn last week on the road. Georgia started the spring with a win over then-No. 4 South Carolina at home and the Bulldog Jumping Seat squad competed against Sweet Briar, riding to a victory.
The Aggies (3-3) edged out then-No. 9 South Carolina last week, 10-9 on the road. Also this spring, Texas A&M played to close competition against Baylor, tying the Bears in points and winning in raw score. The team lost to Auburn at home, 14-6.
The Bulldogs will host the SEC Championship March 26-27 at the UGA Equestrian Complex in Bishop, Ga.
