Bulldogs Second In Old Waverly Collegiate

WEST POINT, Miss. --- The No. 10 Georgia men's golf team stands second after one round of the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship.
On Friday on Old Waverly Golf Club's par-72, 7,088-yard layout, the Bulldogs fired a 5-under 283. Georgia is two shots behind LSU's 7-281 and the Bulldogs are tied with Vanderbilt.
Fifth year Spencer Ralston and senior Davis Thompson paced Georgia in the opening round as each posted a 2-under 70. They are eighth individually, three shy of Mississippi State's Ford Clegg.
Sophomore Connor Creasy signed for a 1-under 71 for 15th and junior Eli Scott recorded an even-par 72. Junior Trent Phillips had Georgia's non-counting figure of 5-over 77.
Playing as an individual, fifth year Will Chandler registered an even-par 72.
Georgia will be paired with LSU and Vanderbilt in the second round on Saturday. The teams are scheduled to tee off in 10-minute increments between 10:40 and 11:20 a.m.
