OPELIKA, Ala. --- Georgia senior Davis Thompson grabbed the individual lead in the Tiger Invitational presented by Jason Dufner on Monday.

Playing 36 holes on Grand National's par-72, 7,289-yard Lake Course, the senior from nearby Auburn carded rounds of 5-under 67 and 6-under 66 for a total of 11-under 133. Thompson is one clear of Alabama's Wilson Furr and three ahead of Arkansas' Tyson Reeder.

Thompson lowered his Southeastern Conference-leading scoring average to 69.29 with Monday's loops. Eleven of his 17 rounds now have been in the 60s.

As a team, the 13th-ranked Bulldogs stand third with a total of 14-under 562 after posting efforts of 8-under 280 and 6-under 282. Host Auburn moved to the top of the leaderboard at 20-under 556, followed by Alabama at 17-under 559.

In the first round, sophomore Connor Creasy followed Thompson's 67 with a 2-under 70. Fifth year Spencer Ralston signed for a 1-under 71 and junior Trent Phillips added an even-par 72. Junior Eli Scott's 2-over 75 was the Bulldogs' drop score.

Thompson paced the Bulldogs with his 66 in the second round, followed by Creasy and Phillips each with a 1-under 71, and Ralston with a 2-over 74. Georgia tossed out Scott's 5-over 77.

Creasy is 18th individually with a total of 3-under 141. Phillips landed at 1-under 143, Ralston capped his day at 1-over 145, and Scott finished at 7-over 151.

Playing as an individual, sophomore Nicolas Cassidy had rounds of 4-under 68 and 1-under 71. He stands ninth with a total of 5-under 139.

Tournament officials created the 36-hole format Monday due to the threat of inclement weather on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Opelika area. The teams will attempt to complete the tournament on Tuesday with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Georgia will be paired with Auburn and Alabama.
