Georgia volleyball travels to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for a two-match series this weekend against the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Bulldogs and Tide open the series Saturday at 2 p.m., ET. Sunday's 12 p.m., ET, matchup will air nationally on SEC Network.

- Georgia narrowly leads the all-time series against Alabama 29-27

A Look at What's Ahead
After a bye week from competition, Georgia will return to the court at No. 5 Kentucky Nov. 10. That match will air nationally on ESPNU from Lexington. The Bulldogs return to Stegeman Coliseum to host Missouri Nov. 13 and 14 in a two-match series. 
 
Let's Recap
Georgia dropped a closely-fought battle against Mississippi State Wednesday at Stegeman Coliseum. The five-set match featured 32 ties and the lead changed 18 times altogether. Neither team won a set by a margin of victory greater than three points and three of the five sets went long to 26 points. Georgia's blocking performance shined as the Bulldogs tallied a season-best 18 blocks, led by a career-best 11 from senior Sage Naves. Junior Kacie Evans recorded 14 kills and tied a career-best 18 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Senior Kayla Rivera put up 12 kills on the evening. Naves contributed eight kills. 
 
Coming Out Strong
This season, Georgia has come out of the gate strong, winning the opening set in 15-of-20 matches. The Bulldogs have taken opening sets by an average of over five points. 
 
Aces Wild
The Bulldogs have had a history of excellent serving under Tom Black and 2021 has been no exception. Georgia ranks second in the SEC with 112 total services aces this season and with 1.42 aces per set. Individually, junior Amber Stivrins ranks third in the SEC with 33 total and 0.43 aces per set. 
 
Blocking Improves in 2020-21
Georgia concluded the 2020-21 season ranked fourth in the SEC in blocking as a team, completing the campaign with 2.25 blocks per set. It was the highest finish in the category under Tom Black. SEC All-Freshman Team member Phoebe Awoleye finished top-five in the league with 1.05 blocks per set as a rookie.
 
This season, Awoleye is ninth in the SEC with 87 total blocks and ninth with 1.10 blocks per set.
