Georgia Scores a 196.750 at Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. --- The No. 10 University of Georgia gymnastics team posted its highest away score of the season with a 196.750 against the No. 15 Arkansas Razorbacks' score of 196.950 on Friday night at Barnhill Arena.

Senior Sabrina Vega scored her fourth 9.950 of the season on floor and took home the event title. Vega and freshman Haley De Jong shared the event title on beam with two Razorbacks after scoring a 9.925.

The GymDogs began on bars, posting a 49.025. Junior Marissa Oakley led the team with a 9.875 and freshman Loulie Hattaway earned her season-high of 9.825.

In her vault lineup debut, sophomore Megan Roberts scored a 9.800 to contribute to the GymDogs' score of 48.975 for the event. Sophomore Rachael Lukacs led the squad with a 9.850 in the anchor position. To finish the second rotation, the Razorbacks earned their season high score on bars with a 49.425.

Georgia posted its highest away score on floor with a 49.350 in the third rotation. As the sixth-ranked floor competitor in the nation, Vega topped all other gymnasts with her fourth 9.950 for the event.

The GymDogs finished strong on beam, earning a 49.400. Vega and De Jong led the squad with scores of 9.925, while Oakley contributed a 9.875.

Georgia will host its first tri-meet in Stegeman Coliseum since 2001 on Valentine's Day, Friday, February 14. Ball State and Eastern Michigan will be in Athens with competition beginning at 7 p.m.
