Seventh Inning Home Run Lifts Bulls Past Bulldogs, 2-0

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The 15th-ranked Georgia softball team dropped a 2-0 decision to South Florida Sunday, in its final game of the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational.
Bulls (2-8) pitcher Georgina Corrick knocked a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning then slammed the door shut on the Bulldogs in the bottom of the inning to down Georgia, 2-0.
Mary Wilson Avant (4-2) pitched a complete game in the circle for Georgia, recording a career-best 12 strikeouts. She allowed both Bulls runs on only three hits.
At the plate, Sara Mosley, Sydney Kuma, and CJ Landrum all contributed a hit for Georgia. Mosley's hit was a double in the third inning.
The Bulldogs return to Athens and will host Samford at Jack Turner Stadium on Wednesday. First pitch against the Bulldogs is set for 5:30 p.m. from Jack Turner Stadium.
