Bulldogs Ready For Nike Invitational In Oregon

ATHENS, Ga. --- Coming off a victory at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate, the Georgia men's golf team heads to the West Coast to compete in the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational in North Plains, Ore.
Tournament Format: 18 holes of stroke play each day Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Teams will have lineups of five players, with the low four counting.
Course: Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, Witch Hollow (par 71, 6,997 yards)
Lineup: Seniors Calum Masters and Spencer Ralston, junior Davis Thompson, sophomore Trent Phillips, and freshman Connor Creasy.
Field: Georgia, Baylor, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Southern Cal, Stanford, TCU, Texas, Vanderbilt, and Wake Forest.
Rankings: No. 7 Golfweek's Division I Men's Preseason Rankings; No. 9 GolfChannel.com; No. 20 Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll.

Last Season: The Bulldogs competed in this event a season ago at Colonial Country Club in Texas, placing 10th.
News & Notes: The Bulldogs will be competing at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, which has played host to six United States Golf Association Championships. This site was where Tiger Woods claimed his third straight U.S. Amateur Championship in 1996. … Thompson won his second collegiate tournament in the Bulldogs' last event at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate. … Phillips, selected by Golfweek as a Preseason First-Team All-American, leads the SEC with a scoring average of 69.50. … Creasy came in 11th in the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate in his debut for the Bulldogs. … Ralston has played in 38-of-38 collegiate events heading into the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational
Coach Chris Haack Says: "Winning the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate was a nice shot in the arm for our team. There is no substitute for competing and being challenged. We will certainly have that this week in the Nike Invitational. The course will test our game and the field will put us to the test as well. We're looking forward to all of that."
On Deck: After this outing, the Bulldogs will wrap up the fall at the Crooked Stick Invitational in Indiana and the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational in Hawaii.
