Bulldogs Open In Second In Rivers Intercollegiate

CHOUDRANT, La. --- The No. 7-ranked Georgia men's golf team opened in second place in the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate on Sunday.

Playing Squire Creek Country Club's par-72, 7,070-yard layout, the Bulldogs fired a 5-under 283. Georgia is three shots behind Lamar's 8-under 280.

Junior Davis Thompson paced the Bulldogs as he fired a 2-under 70 to land seventh, three shy of Lamar's Dino Capazario (67). 

Senior Calum Masters, sophomore Trent Phillips, and freshman Connor Creasy all followed in 12th at 1-under 71. Senior Spencer Ralston had the Bulldogs' non-counting score of 3-over 75.

Competing as an individual, sophomore Will Kahlstorf fired an even-par 72.

The second and third rounds are slated for Monday and Tuesday.
