Emil Reinberg Advances to NCAA Singles Second Round

LAKE NONA, Fla. — University of Georgia men's tennis senior Emil Reinberg is moving to the second round of the 2019 NCAA Singles Championship following a win against Stanford's Alexandre Rotsaert on Monday.
Reinberg, who is ranked 38th nationally, ousted the 63rd-ranked Rotsaert, 6-2, 7-5. He now advances to face No. 5 overall seed Brandon Holt from USC in the Round of 32 on Tuesday.
Playing at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Fla., Reinberg is one of 64 players fighting for a chance to play in Saturday's national championship match.
Reinberg enters postseason play after placing on the All-SEC First Team in his senior season. The Bulldog veteran owns an 18-14 overall singles record this season and has now totaled nine wins against ranked opponents this year. This past fall, Reinberg became the first Bulldog since Travis Helgeson in 2007 to advance to the semifinals of the ITA All-America Championships.
