Jansen Named SEC Newcomer of the Year, Bulldogs Receive All-SEC Recognition

ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia men's tennis senior Will Jansen has been named the Southeastern Conference Newcomer of the Year and three Bulldogs received All-SEC recognition, the conference office announced Thursday.
Jansen has been named SEC Newcomer of the Year after compiling a singles record of 13-4 with seven matches going unfinished on court two, and eight ranked wins. He finished the spring winning eight of his last nine completed matches. He and partner Gabriele Vulpitta have gone 14-7 in doubles and a 9-4 mark in conference play with five ranked wins. He was named a 2025 ITA All-American after reaching the round of 16 at the NCAA Singles Championships in the fall.
Jansen along with Arda Azkara were named to the All-SEC Second Team, while Noah Johnston received All-Freshman honors.
After seeing action at the ITA Southeast Regional and being featured in singles and doubles draws at the ITA South Sectional in Athens in the fall, Arda has consistently been ranked among the top-40 singles players in the nation this spring. He has gone 6-5 from court one and has four ranked wins, including beating TCU's Duncan Chan, then-ranked sixth overall. He will graduate from Georgia with a masters in sport management in May.
Noah Johnston has gone 16-5 this spring with an 8-2 mark in SEC play. Of his 16 singles wins, he was either the first to add a point or clinched the win for the Bulldogs seven times. He's had much success in doubles with partner Derrick Chen on court three this spring. The duo has compiled a 15-4 record, with 10 SEC wins in the regular season and one in the championship.
The Bulldogs are ranked 12th and await their fate in the NCAA Tournament. The Selection Show is set for Monday, April 27 at 4 p.m. ET. Georgia will host the NCAA National Championship May 14-17 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
