Three Georgia Equestrians Named to NCEA All-America Teams

ATHENS, Ga.— Three University of Georgia equestrians were named to the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Ariat All-America teams, including senior Graysen Stroud, junior Maddy Darst and sophomore Jordan Carpenter.
Stroud grabbed First Team honors for Reining. Stroud holds a 13-6-1 overall record for the 2018-19 season, 8-2 in Reining. This is Stroud's third consecutive year to receive a spot on the Reining team. The senior Bulldog has received four Most Outstanding Performance (MOP) honors for her rides in the event.
Darst was named to the Second Team for Equitation Over Fences while also earning Honorable Mention for Equitation on the Flat. Last season, Darst received All-America honors in both events tallying her recognitions at four. She holds a 14-5-1 overall record this season, 6-3-1 in Equitation on the Flat and 8-2 in Equitation Over Fences. For the 2018-19 season, Darst received three MOP honors, two in Fences and three in Flat.
Carpenter earned Second Team honors in Reining. This marks Carpenter's first All-America honor for her career. Overall, she holds an 7-2 season record and earned a MOP honor for her ride at an away meet versus Southern Methodist University.
Twenty-nine riders have earned 65 All-America honors in program history.
The NCEA National Championship will take place on April 17-21 in Waco, Texas, at the Extraco Events Center. Georgia received the No. 6 seed for the team competition. For individual event competition, the Bulldogs were seeded third in Reining, fifth in Equitation on the Flat, seventh in Equitation Over Fences, and eighth in Horsemanship.
