"Why Georgia," what made you choose to attend the University of Georgia?
"I think the real question is why not Georgia? I knew from the moment I walked onto the campus at UGA that I wanted to come here for school. I fell in love with the beautiful campus and the charm of the classic city. However, what sold me on the school was the girls on the team. They were all so friendly that I immediately felt like Athens was my new home."
Describe the UGA equestrian team in one word.
"United. We are a large team, but every single person plays a vital role. There is a huge emphasis on this team about everyone working together to achieve our goals. It would be impossible for us to go out and win without everyone."
Describe your time at UGA in three words.
"I need coffee."
How old were you when you started riding and what made you decide to?
"My grandmother took me to go on a pony ride when I was about three. I proceeded to ask almost every single day to go back. The woman who ran the place mentioned a pony camp that I could go to and the rest is history."
What is your favorite memory with UGA equestrian?
"My favorite memory is winning the SEC championship my sophomore year. Our entire team was anxiously waiting as the last score came in. Everyone was overwhelmed with joy screaming and hugging one another. I have never experienced anything like that."
Favorite class you have taken at UGA.
"My favorite class would have to be Travel Writing. I took it on my study abroad in Dublin with one of my favorite professors Dr. Rhodes. It was such an amazing experience to immerse myself in another culture, while also working on interviewing and writing."
Go-to spot in Athens.
"I love Mama's Boy! Even though the wait can be crazy long."
First thing you are doing after graduation.
"I am moving back home to New York. I want to work in news. Hopefully, I will still be able to ride a bit on the weekends!"
If you could play any other sport what would it be and why?
"I would love to be a GymDawg! Every single time I go to a meet, I am so amazed by all their talent. However, I can barely touch my toes so it's not very realistic."
What does Coach Meghan Boenig mean to you?
"I was honestly quite petrified of Coach M when I first came onto the team. I was really worried about not being able to live up to the high standards that she sets for every one of us. However, Coach M truly believes in every person on this team. Personally, she has pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me not only a better rider, but also a better person."
What is the theme song to your life right now?
"Pocket Full of Sunshine! I listen to this song almost every single day. As the song is super catchy it is almost perpetually stuck in my head."
What is your favorite thing to do?
"I love reading. I always have a book or two in my backpack!"
What is your biggest goal in life?
"I want to make a difference. I am hoping that I can do this throughout my career as a journalist by sharing people's stories and reporting on what is going on in the world."
Favorite city or school you have visited during college.
"My favorite city would have to be Dublin, Ireland. My whole family is from Ireland and it was such a unique experience to be able to study in this city and connect with my family roots."
