Bulldogs Set to Host Gators on Friday

ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia men's tennis team continues its three-match homestand tomorrow at 5 p,m., as the Bulldogs take on No. 8 Florida at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
While the Gators defeated Georgia, 5-2, last season, the Bulldogs hold a 60-21 all-time record over Florida.
"Tomorrow's match is a great opportunity for our guys to showcase their best tennis against a very good Florida team," Georgia head coach Manuel Diaz said. "As usual, it should be a great battle and will give our fans a terrific chance to see an exciting match."
Florida enters tomorrow's match after defeating No. 2-ranked Wake Forest on Wednesday, 5-2.
No. 26 Georgia is coming off a 5-2 win at home over then-ranked No. 24 LSU. In the team's contest against the Tigers, senior Bulldogs Walker Duncan and Jan Zielinski grabbed first-set wins at singles to help seal their respective wins at courts two and six. Then, after dropping the first set at court three, freshman Trent Bryde won the next two sets to clinch the 4-1 Georgia victory.

Seniors Jan Zielinski and Emil Reinberg are ranked No. 10 and No. 20, respectively, in the ITA singles rankings released on March 5. Freshman Bulldog Philip Henning grabbed the No. 95-ranked spot on the list.
Scouting the Florida Gators
Florida is ranked No. 8 in the most recent Oracle/ITA rankings. The Gators are in the midst of a four-match win streak and head into Friday's match 10-2 overall and 3-0 in the SEC this season. In the team's last contest, Florida ousted No. 2-ranked and defending NCAA Champion Wake Forest, 5-2.
