ATHENS, Ga. – The seventh-ranked University of Georgia equestrian team will honor its 12 senior riders as they welcome No. 4 University of South Carolina on Saturday, March 2, at 1 p.m. at the UGA Equestrian Complex.Â
The senior recognition ceremony will be held following Georgia's contest against South Carolina. The Bulldog senior class includes: Madison Anger, Jessica Blum, Chaney Getchell, Anna Hutlas, Emma Mandarino, Sarah McDonald, Alexis Mougalian, Madison Newman, Lila Owens, Graysen Stroud, Cat Sullivan, and Danielle Walawender. All 12 riders have been an integral part in the success of the Bulldogs during their collegiate careers, including helping Georgia win back-to-back Southeastern Conference (SEC) titles for 2017 and 2018, as well as the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) reserve titles in 2017 and 2018.Â
Georgia (3-5, 2-2 SEC) fell, 11-8, to No. 5 Baylor at the Bears' home arena this past Saturday. Stroud notched a Most Outstanding Performance (MOP) honor after a 16-point win over her opponent. Sophomore Lexie Lane tied her opponent's score in Horsemanship to keep the Bears from taking the event.Â
