Student Contests Planned For Bulldogs’ Final Two Home Dates
ATHENS, Ga. — As the Georgia Bulldogs prepare to break their all-time total attendance record at Stegeman Coliseum, two halftime contests have been planned with UGA students to help celebrate the accomplishment.
At this week's game against Auburn, two students will be selected via the "Commit To The G" student rewards app to take part in "Make It or Take It." At next Wednesday's Missouri game, 10 students will be selected via the app to play "Hot Shot."
In "Make It or Take It," the two students will take part in a coin flip. The student who wins the flip will be given the chance to dribble the length of the floor and make a layup in nine seconds for $2,500. If the student successfully makes the layup, they will be given a chance to make a 3-pointer to double their money to $5,000. If the student decides not to attempt the 3-pointer, the second student will have the chance to shoot a 3-pointer and take the $2,500 reward from the other student.
In addition, the first 750 students will receive a free biscuit from Bojangles and students who arrive early enough on Wednesday to sit in the Coliseum's lower bowl will receive a free t-shirt.
For the "Hot Shot" contest, 10 shooting spots will be placed on the Coliseum playing floor, five on each end of the court. Ten students will race to select their spot. Each student will then shoot one at a time to possibly earn a prize listed underneath their spot. Prizes will include Nintendo switches, air pods and gift cards.
Entering Wednesday's game against Auburn, the Bulldogs have drawn 133,683 fans for their 15 home dates. That tally is 5,888 shy of breaking Georgia Basketball's all-time home attendance record of 139,570 set over the 19 home games during the 2015-16 campaign.
