Sabrina Vega Named SEC Specialist of the Week

ATHENS, Ga. --- Junior Sabrina Vega of the University of Georgia gymnastics team has been named the Southeastern Conference Gymnastics Specialist of the Week.

Needing a 9.925 to win the meet for the GymDogs, Vega scored a nearly perfect 9.975 in the final routine on floor to keep Georgia undefeated against the Kentucky Wildcats in head-to-head competition.

In Georgia's third consecutive SEC win, the Carmel, New York native also moonwalked her way to a 9.925 on beam to tie her career-best score for the third time this season.Â

Vega and the GymDogs hit the road to face Florida on Friday, Feb. 22 in Gainesville.Â
