Swift Named A Maxwell Award Semifinalist

ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia junior running back D'Andre Swift has been included as one of 20 semifinalists for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, which is given to the nation's most outstanding player.

Swift, a native of Philadelphia, Pa., is one of five players from the Southeastern Conference on the list. Both Charley Trippi (1946) and Herschel Walker (1982) have won the Maxwell during their time as a Bulldog.

Swift has tallied 1,130 yards rushing on 183 carries (6.2 average/carry) and rushed for seven touchdowns this season. This is his second consecutive season with at least 1,000 yards rushing, making him the fifth Bulldog in history to have a pair of 1,000-yard seasons. He has also added 21 catches for 198 yards and a score for the 10-1 Bulldogs, who are ranked No. 4 in the current College Football Playoff (CFP) poll.

The No. 4 Bulldogs (10-1, 7-1 SEC) travel to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech (3-8, 2-6 ACC) on Saturday. ABC will televise the matchup at 12 p.m.
