Donovan Named SEC Setter of the Week for a Third Time

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the third time this season, Georgia volleyball junior Meghan Donovan has been named the Southeastern Conference Setter of the Week, the league announced Monday.
"This is a great recognition to Meghan for the hard work and passion she puts into the game," head coach Tom Black remarked. "She added an element to her skill set that helped our offense this weekend, especially on Saturday. There are many levels to go and work to be done. Meg is as committed as anyone to use each day this week to get better as we head into SEC play."
The St. Louis native dished out 12.3 assists per set over the weekend, running a Bulldog offense that hit .298 in eight sets played. In Friday's five-set loss to Georgia Tech, Donovan recorded a new career best with 57 assists. In the fourth set of the match, Georgia hit .593 to force a fifth set after being down 2-0.
In Saturday's sweep of NC State, Donovan recorded 42 assists, a season-high for a three-set match. Georgia also had a season-best .328 hitting percentage against the Wolfpack. The win was Georgia's fifth sweep of the season.
Georgia volleyball will open SEC play Friday at Stegeman Coliseum. First serve against the LSU Tigers is set for 7 p.m. The match will be streamed on the SEC Network+.
