GymDogs Add Al-Hameed to 2018 Class

ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia gymnastics head coach Courtney Kupets Carter has announced the addition of Alexa Al-Hameed to the GymDogs roster for the 2019 season. 
 
"We are happy to add Alexa to an already talented group of freshmen coming in for the 2019 season," Kupets Carter said. "She is enthusiastic and excited to be a part of the tradition of Georgia gymnastics. We can't wait to get her on campus."
 
Al-Hameed is the final member of the 2018 signing class, joining Samantha Davis, Rachael Lukacs, Mikayla Magee, and Megan Roberts.
 
Al-Hameed, a native of Ames, Iowa, has trained at Triad Gymnastics.  She placed fifth on the balance beam in the 2018 Junior Olympic National Championships in Cincinnati, Ohio.  In 2016, she was a Nastia Lukin Cup qualifier.  Al-Hameed placed fourth on bars and eighth on beam at the Junior Olympic Level 10 National Championships in addition to placing first on bars, third in the all-around and sixth on vault and beam at the Nastia Lukin Cup in 2015.
