Seven Divers To Participate In Zone B Meet

ATHENS, Ga. --- Seven members of the Georgia diving teams will be competing Monday through Wednesday in the NCAA Zone B Championships at Tennessee's Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
The Zone B event marks the only way divers can advance to the NCAA Championships March 14-17 for the women at Ohio State and March 21-24 for the men at Minnesota. Georgia has 11 female swimmers already invited to the NCAAs, while the male qualifiers will be confirmed on Wednesday.
Competing for the Lady Bulldogs will be McKensi Austin, Olivia Ball and Freida Lim. Zachary Allen, Charlie Clifton, Ian Forlini and Josh Getty will be representing the Bulldogs.
Joining Georgia and host Tennessee will be divers from Alabama, Auburn, Duke, East Carolina, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida International, Florida State, Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina, North Carolina State, UNC-Wilmington and South Carolina.
The Zone B Championships will start Monday at 11 a.m. with women's 1-meter springboard, followed by men's 3-meter at 3:35 p.m. On Tuesday, the men's 1-meter will begin at 11 a.m., followed by women's 3-meter at 3:30 p.m. Men's platform will start at 10 a.m. Wednesday, followed by women's platform at 2:45 p.m.
The top seven women on 1- and 3-meter, the top nine women on platform, the top six men on 1- and 3-meter and the top seven men on platform will advance to the NCAAs. Divers who reach those places can qualify for additional boards at the NCAAs with top-12 finishes at Zones.
