GymDogs Prepare for First Look, 2019 Season
November 29, 2018 | Gymnastics
ATHENS, Ga. --- The University of Georgia gymnastics team continues preparation for the upcoming 2019 season and will host its annual "First Look" on December 8 in Stegeman Coliseum at 4 p.m.
Â
The "First Look" will be a chance for fans to see the GymDogs' new routines before the season officially begins on January 5 against Ohio State in Athens.Â
Â
"The improvement that we have seen throughout practice is very impressive," head coach Courtney Kupets Carter said. "We have a full line-up and it's really great to see them coming together as a team. We do have nine freshmen, so it's good to see them really start to have that calm confidence together. They are doing their skills with confidence and improving execution. It's the time to pick it up and we're excited to see the progress with fans around."
Â
All-Americans Rachel Dickson, Marissa Oakley, Sydney Snead, and Sabrina Vega as well as Emily Schild return to the competition mat for Georgia with nine new GymDogs anxious to make their debuts in Stegeman.Â
Â
Doors will open at 3 p.m. and parking in the Carlton Street Deck across the street will be available.Â
