Final Stats

ATHENS, Ga. --- After South Carolina (29-21, 5-14) tied it in the top seventh, Alyssa DiCarlo hit a walk-off single to lead the No. 22 Georgia softball team (31-19, 4-16) to a 2-1 win on Saturday.

Sydni Emanuel reached on a one-out walk to place the winning run on before DiCarlo stepped up with two outs in the frame. With a full count, the sophomore took the ball to left field, allowing S. Emanuel to round third and beat the throw home.

The game-ending hit was DiCarlo's lone hit of the day while she now holds 56 RBI on the year. S. Emanuel was perfect in her plate appearances, tabbing three hits for the only multi-hit performance from both teams. The Bulldogs totaled nine hits, as eight came against starter Nickie Blue and one off of reliever Jessica Elliott (13-9).

Kylie Bass (7-2) went the distance, giving up five hits and holding the Gamecocks scoreless until the seventh. The Georgia native walked one while striking out five.

The Bulldogs held a 1-0 advantage for a majority of the game after back-to-back singles from Ciara Bryan and Alysen Febrey in the second allowed S. Emanuel to single up the middle for an RBI.

The visitors had just one inning with a runner in scoring position before coming out swinging in the seventh. An Alyssa VanDerveer double led off the inning before Shannon Plese would pinch run and move to third on a flyout and score on a Krystan White hit. Georgia would then hold on for the walk-off win in the next half inning.

The rubber match with South Carolina is set for 2 p.m. ET on Sunday on SEC Network+/WatchESPN. The first 300 fans to Jack Turner Stadium will receive a free Nicole Barber bobblehead.
