Eagle junior right-hander Landon Hughes pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of relief with four strikeouts to earn the win while freshman Justin Glover dropped to 0-1. He pitched 1.1 innings and allowed one unearned run one hit with two strikeouts. Junior right-hander Chase Adkins provided a solid start for the Bulldogs, blanking the Eagles for six innings.

On Georgia's performance:
"We played great defense for most of the game, and we really needed to in a 1-0, 1-1 tight game. Georgia Southern's bullpen is good and kept them in it, and I thought our pitching was good too. We made some mistakes late in some situations that we practice. Also, we need to be better offensively if we want to be a good team. I liked our at bats early but we didn't have some good ones when we had men in scoring position. Overall when you look at the series, we did win one on the road, but after you win the first two games of a series, you want to be greedy and get the sweep. Still, I thought we got some momentum going in to Tuesday."
