CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. --- Georgia softball head coach Lu Harris-Champer recorded her 1,000th career win after the Bulldogs took down Cal State Fullerton 6-4 on Saturday night.

Harris-Champer is in her 21st season coaching after spending the first four seasons split between Nicholls State and Southern Miss while she is in year 17 in Athens. Her teams have been to five Women's College World Series, nine Super Regionals and 19 Regionals. Harris-Champer also hit the landmark in her home state of California.

In the win, Brittany Gray (9-1) came out of the bullpen to throw five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out three. The Georgia bats notched 12 hits off of two Titan pitchers, as starter Kelsey Kessler (4-2) took the loss with 10 of those hits and all six runs allowed.

Freshman Alysen Febrey went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI while fellow classmate Ciara Bryan and senior Sydni Emanuel tabbed two hits each with Emanuel also collecting a pair of RBI. Bryan came across home plate twice as did freshman Justice Milz.

CSF jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, starting the game off with three runs in the first. Georgia responded with six unanswered runs starting in the bottom of the second with a trio of runs, as Emanuel brought in two runs before Maeve McGuire notched a RBI single.

The Bulldogs took over the lead in the next inning, putting up another three-spot frame. Febrey brought in the first two on a double to right center before sophomore Brea Dickey followed with an RBI single.

The Titans threatened in the final frame with runners in scoring position with two outs; however, Gray got the last batter looking to secure the milestone win for Harris-Champer.

Georgia plays its next six games at home. The Bulldogs take on Kennesaw State on Wednesday before hosting the Bulldog Invitational from March 3-5. UNC Wilmington, Central Connecticut State and Michigan State all come to Athens that weekend.
