2017 Georgia Fall World Series Best of Three at Foley Field
Red Squad Wins 9-6 and Claims Series 2-1
Game 3 Highlights (Nov. 5, 2017)
*Sophomore Cam Shepherd gave the Black squad a 2-0 lead with a two-run shot in the first following a leadoff walk to freshman C.J. Smith.
*Red team erupted for a five-spot in the second with four consecutive singles as freshman Ivan Johnson, sophomore Austin Biggar and senior Keegan McGovern collected an RBI each while senior Trey Logan added a two-run double
*Junior Michael Curry led off the 4th with a solo home run to cut the deficit to 5-3
*Red team took advantage of a miscue to plate a pair of unearned runs in the fourth to extend its lead to 7-3
*Shepherd blasted his second two-run home run of the day as part of a three-run fifth to bring the Black team to within one at 7-6
*Red squad answered in the bottom of the 5th as Biggar connected for a two-run home run off the top of the CF wall for a 9-6 lead
*Sunday's deciding game three was limited to six innings. The Red team rallied back after dropping game one Friday.

"Our guys competed every day and we got better from the first day of fall practice to the last day. I really like the way the team competed throughout the Fall World Series. I saw good at bats, and the Red squad made some defensive plays today when they needed them, and both sides hit some home runs. Overall, we had a great weekend and a great fall."
