Georgia to Conclude Fall Schedule on the Road

ATHENS, Ga. --- The top-ranked Georgia equestrian team is set to conclude the fall portion of its schedule as the Bulldogs travel to face Delaware State on Friday, November 17. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Dovington Training Center in Felton, Del.

The Bulldogs are coming off a 12-8 victory over then-No. 3 Auburn with a 5-0 overall record and 3-0 mark in Southeastern Conference action.Â

Two Georgia riders earned MOP honors for their rides against the Tigers. Addyson Cord and Bailey Anderson were awarded for Equitation on the Flat and Horsemanship, respectively.Â
Â
Georgia's Reining and Horsemanship squads hold perfect 5-0 records heading into this weekend's matchup against the Hornets. The Equitation Over Fences group has jumped to a 3-1-1 record, while the Equitation on the Flat riders have gone 3-2 on the season.Â

In the last meeting between the teams, on February 4, 2017 in Bishop, Georgia defeated Delaware State 18-2. Georgia gave up one point in each Western event, but swept MOP honors.

Delaware State is looking for its first win of the season. The Hornets earned a No. 10 national ranking for the first two weeks of the 2017-18 season but currently sits at 0-5. The Hornets have fallen to then- No. 8 TCU (10-5), UT Martin (9-6), then- No. 1 Texas A&M (18-6), then-No. 4 SMU (8-7), and then-No. 5 Fresno State (11-5) so far this season.
