BATON ROUGE, La. -- Sophomore Sydney Snead paced the Gymdogs in three of four events and posted an all-around score of 39.225 as the Gymdogs fell on the road to LSU by a 197.825-193.600 tally on Friday night.

The second-ranked Tigers posted their highest-ever score for a home opener while No. 9 Georgia debuted 10 new routines from a year ago.

"Anywhere you go in the SEC is going to be a tough environment," said Georgia head coach Danna Durante. "We were not as confident as we have been in training. We just need to trust our training and be confident moving forward. I know that this staff and this team are about growth, and we're going to work hard to be ready for Auburn next week."

Snead paced the Gymdogs on bars, posting a solid 9.875 in her debut in the anchor position of the event. As a team, Georgia scored a 48.7 while LSU tallied a 49.525 on vault to take an early lead.

Georgia put a 48.85 on the scoreboard on vault, and again it was Snead with the top score from the anchor spot with a 9.875. Another strong rotation from LSU allowed the Tigers to build on their lead, though, taking a 98.9-97.55 lead into the halfway point of the meet.

Junior Gigi Marino took home the top score for the Gymdogs on floor with a 9.825 in her first performance of the year. Athens native Morgan Reynolds followed closely behind with a 9.8 as Georgia totaled a 48.825 in the event and trailed 144.775-148.350 into the final rotation.

Snead once again was the high-scorer for the visiting squad on beam, scoring a 9.8 in her first collegiate beam routine. Georgia had to count two falls in the rotation, finishing the final event with a score of 47.225.

Georgia will return to action with another conference road meet next Friday, Jan. 13, at Auburn at 7 p.m. The meet will be showcased on the SEC Network and its Friday Night Heights promotion.
